SEMBLANZA
Andrea Alfaro (1998, Mexico).
Photographer and digital artist.
From a young age she was attracted to the different arts and five years ago she discovered one of her greatest passions: photography. Some of her collections deal with the human body and nature. Through these, she has been able not only to discover her surroundings with a sensitive gaze, but also herself and how she perceives herself in the different stages of her life.
She has a bachelor degree in Animation and Digital Art and is excited about the possibility of creating stories with different resources and digital media. She was a member of the Visualization Department for the short film Esponjoso (2020), where she was in charge of modeling, materials and lighting, rendering process and digital composition.
In February 2020 she participated in the collective photography exhibition "Raw Artists" in Mexico City and around that year her work took a turn after beginning to make conceptual photography and self-portraits that spoke of the perception of oneself and feelings.
In 2021, she participated in the exhibition "Insania: entre la genialidad y la locura" at the Caja Real Centro Cultural de la UASLP along with other emerging artists from San Luis Potosí. At the beginning of 2022, her photograph "The Room" won third place by the jury at national level on the Tecno Planet Mexico contest, among more than 600 photographs.
She is currently involved in audiovisual projects and continues to plan personal projects experimenting with digital techniques.
